Yes, there’s been a new addition to my little doll family.
Meet Patsy my Half Pint Tonner doll I’ve been sewing for.
Isn’t she the cutest little thing! She’s only 10″ tall but she sure has made a big impact on me 🙂
This is how I bought my Half Pint Patsy doll off of Ebay from this seller . Well a good friend ‘Pamela’ actually bought her off Ebay in the US for me and then she posted her to me here in Australia as the postage worked out to be much cheaper for me that way.
How adorable is her sweet little face?
Those big blue eyes make my heart melt!
Well, the first thing I had to do as soon as she arrived was draft a pattern and a sew a dress for my poor little naked Half Pint Patsy
This is the first dress I made from my pattern. I made it long enough so it covered her little knee joints. I was thrilled with the fit I got on her bodice. For this dress I did a centre back closure using velcro as the closure. But I could have used little sew in snaps but I’m not a huge fan of hand sewing if I don’t really need to.
Next up I decided to draft a pattern for a pair of bloomers
Every doll needs a little pair of panties and I thought bloomers would be perfect for Half Pint Patsy.
Here’s Patsy showing off her bloomers.
Next up came the fun part.
I bought myself a Janome Ruffler foot and of course I had to test that new baby out… as you do when you get a new toy…
And when you also have a new doll this is what happens hahahaha
Half Pint Patsy ends up with an outfit with ruffles all over the place. I even drafted a hat pattern especially for my little Patsy and got a great fit too.
I initially hadn’t planned on publishing sewing patterns for Half Pint Patsy. She was just going to be a little doll for me to have some fun sewing for. But things have changed and I’ve had quite a few people on Facebook wanting me to publish some patterns for Patsy. So you might be seeing a bit more of Patsy over the coming weeks when I release a sewing pattern especially to fit our cute little Patsy and Ann Estelle dolls.
If you’d like to check out the Half Pint (Patsy) dolls you can find them over on the Tonner website where you can buy fully dressed dolls that are absolutely adorable!
This is what my doll would have looked like if I had of bought a fully dressed doll instead of a naked doll but she would have cost me twice as much as what I paid for my little one. I figured I’d be stripping her and sewing lots of clothes for her to wear anyway and didn’t really need a fully dressed doll. Although I do have to admit the original outfit she comes in is sooooo cute! Thinking I may just have to make her something similar too
I have also been sewing and preparing a Fun in the Sun pattern for Ellowyne Wilde dolls
Here’s a couple of photos of Ellowyne Wilde wearing the test outfits I made from her Fun in the Sun pattern (to be released soon).
I thought I’d have a little extra fun and decided Ellowyne needed a handbag and tried my hand at drafting a bag pattern to go with her new dress.
A pants pattern for Ellowyne Wilde is coming too….
Here’s a couple of photos of the pants pattern I’ve drafted for Ellowyne Wilde dolls. The pants have a faced waistband so as to reduce bulk at her waist and they closes in the center back with either velcro or sew in snaps. I decided on the center back closure to provide nice clean lines on the front of the pants.
I love to make sure that when my dolls bend or sit they don’t show off their butt cracks which means making sure the crotch curve is just right. I think I nailed it on these pants as you tell by Ellowyne doing an almighty leg lift. It’s been a long time since I could stroke a pose like Ellowyne can hahahaha
So there you go… that gives you a bit of an idea as to what I’ve been getting up to in my sewing room and what sewing patterns will be coming your way.
