If you’ve landed on this page it’s probably because you’d like to know a little more about me… so here goes.
My name is Chris Lucas and As you can gather by my blog I love to sew.
I’ve been sewing ever since I was a young girl about 8yrs old when my mother bought me my very first sewing machine which was battery operated. Oh how I loved that sewing machine and I sewed countless outfits for all my Barbie dolls. About a year later my mother updated her sewing machine and gave me her old well-loved Bernina. I was so excited as I thought I was all grown up sewing with a real sewing machine and I haven’t stopped sewing all these years. This year I’ll be celebrating my 50th birthday!
I’ve been studying fashion design and pattern making for the last few years as I thought it was time to take my sewing to the next level. During this time I rediscovered my love of dolls and I’ve been sewing for them as well as for myself. So my fashion design, sewing, and pattern making skills are now more focused towards designing and creating sewing patterns.
I’m continually striving to produce professionally designed patterns and sewing garments that I’m proud to say “I made that”.
My home town is in Brisbane in Australia’s sunshine state of Queensland and I love it!
I’m happily married and have been with the man of my dreams (Grant) since I was 22 which I am forever grateful for and always will be.

My wonderful hubby is a little shy (not like me) and would rather that I didn’t share a picture of him but I just had to sneak one in LOL. This picture was taken about 4yrs ago… I was a little (actually about 20kgs or so) heavier then than I am now. This picture brings back memories of a wonderful night we shared and always puts a smile on my face… actually my hubby always puts a smile on my face every time I see him even after all these years he still makes my heart flutter.
My baby “Zoe” joined our little family in late 2012. We rescued her from an organisation called “SAFE” which is made up of a group of volunteers who find new homes for animals who would otherwise find a less fortunate fate.

And here’s little Zoe. She’s such a little cutie and she knows it too. She’s definitely added some fun into our life and she absolutely loves her dad and loves playing with him every chance she gets. She also loves cuddles and smooching with her mum 🙂
Belle is another one of my babies who joined our little family in April 2013. My hubby thought I’d lost my marble when I bought Belle. Belle’s responsible for reigniting my childhood love of dolls. Here she is wearing one of the many outfits I’ve made especially to fit our Australian Girl dolls.
As you can see Zoe & Belle have become best friends too!

Zoe would let Belle rub her tummy all day if she could get away with it.
I have actually built up quite a collection of gorgeous dolls and my American Girl doll Julie is another favourite of mine (Shhh don’t tell the other dolls LOL) She’s also wearing an outfit I made.
The other dolls in my collection are American Girl dolls, Mini American Girl, Ellowyne Wilde, Journey Girls, Our Generation, Barbie, Fashion Royalty Barbie, Kidz n Cats, Cabbage Patch, Miniland, Gotz Just Like Me, and Gotz Happy Kidz. And there’s still more I’d love to add to my collection.
Now you know a little more about me and you probably realise I’m just a fun-loving big kid at heart who loves sewing and loves dolls again too.
Loved reading about you 🙂 We have a lot in common 🙂
Thanks Kathy 🙂 It’s not easy trying what to decide to share about yourself. Glad to find someone who has a lot in common 🙂

Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for your kind words 😀 I’ll be sure to keep up with producing more doll sewing patterns for you 🙂
love your patterns, will have to order a few. do they all fit the 18″ dolls?
Thank you Nancy 🙂 Each of the patterns I have released so far have a version to fit the 18″ dolls including American Girl dolls.
Love your website and patterns. Sorry that I missed out on a free pattern. I’ll check back again.
Thank you 🙂
Just found your patterns and I am just getting into sewing the American Girl doll clothes for my granddaughter! So much fun! I too learned to sew from my grandma who was a beautiful seamstress. I was earning a girl scout badge for sewing and table napkins was what we made for the badge. Then it never ended. . . Thank you Grandma!! xoxo
